The geogrids are generally plastic (not very degradable polymers) and sometimes metallic. They are one of the several synthetic materials developped by the engineering field, and used for preparing structures with several flexible and carrying but, still, light weight coats (compared to slabs and classic roads).
They are characterized by a strong resistance to tractions, as well as a good joining strength of its grid knots.
Common uses :
- Reinforcing of the soil or its lifting force
- Steep slopes stabilisation
- Anti-erosion geogrid
- Organic matress
- PEHD lines
- PVC drainage
